Find answers to the most common questions about Aphero Carbon steering wheels, carbon body kits, exterior aero parts and carbon interior trims.
Yes. Our bespoke carbon steering wheels are built using original OEM steering wheel cores unless clearly stated otherwise on the product page. This helps retain correct fitment and compatibility with the vehicle’s original steering wheel components.
For most steering wheel products, no. We supply the steering wheel core as part of the build. If a product requires an exchange or your original steering wheel, this will be clearly stated on the product page.
Unless specifically stated, airbags, multifunction buttons, paddle shifters and other removable OEM components are not included. These are normally transferred from your existing steering wheel during installation.
Where the correct compatible OEM components are transferred, the steering wheel is designed to retain the vehicle’s original steering wheel controls and functions. Exact compatibility can vary by model and specification.
On compatible vehicles, factory steering wheel heating can often be retained. Availability depends on the original vehicle specification and steering wheel configuration selected.
On selected compatible vehicles, Driver Assist and hands-on detection functions can be retained when the correct OEM components and compatible steering wheel core are used. Check the product page for model-specific information.
Yes. Many Aphero Carbon steering wheels can be customised with different leather or Alcantara finishes, stitching colours, 12 o’clock markers, carbon finishes and selected painted details.
Most bespoke carbon steering wheels are made to order and typically take approximately 4–6 weeks to manufacture. Production time may vary depending on specification and workload.
Yes. We recommend installation by an experienced technician or garage familiar with steering wheel and airbag removal because original safety and electronic components may need to be transferred.
When the correct compatible OEM components are transferred and the steering wheel is installed correctly, factory controls should operate normally. Compatibility should always be checked before ordering.
Yes. Where a product is described as carbon fibre, it is manufactured using genuine carbon fibre construction or carbon fibre components as stated on the product page.
This depends on the product. Some parts replace the original component, while others fit over or attach to existing bodywork. The installation method is stated on each product page.
We strongly recommend professional installation for exterior carbon fibre parts. Correct alignment, preparation and fixing are important for achieving the best fit and finish.
Most products are supplied finished and ready for installation, but minor adjustment or preparation may sometimes be required due to vehicle tolerances and aftermarket fitment.
Some products use factory mounting points, while others may require additional fixing, adhesive or drilling. Always check the specific product information before installation.
Some lightweight trim and aero products may use automotive-grade adhesive tape, but larger components may also require screws, clips, brackets or factory mounting points.
We aim to provide a consistent high-quality carbon finish, but weave pattern, direction and appearance can vary between manufacturers, production batches and existing OEM carbon components.
Finish options depend on the product. Gloss carbon is the most common finish, while selected parts may also be available in alternative finishes.
Check the listed model, generation, year, body style and facelift information on the product page. If unsure, contact us with your vehicle details before ordering.
Carbon fibre is strong and lightweight, but like any exterior body component it can be damaged by impacts, kerbs, road debris or incorrect installation.
Yes. Products described as genuine carbon fibre use real carbon fibre construction or carbon fibre layers as stated in the individual product description.
Both types may be available. Some trims replace the original part, while others are ultra-thin carbon fibre covers designed to fit over the factory trim. Each product page states the construction type.
Most carbon trim covers are installed over the original interior trim using automotive-grade adhesive. The surface should be clean, dry and properly prepared before installation.
No. Our thin carbon fibre covers are designed to follow the original shape of the interior trim and maintain an OEM-style fit.
In many cases, yes, although the installation adhesive must be removed carefully. Removal should be carried out slowly to reduce the risk of damaging the original trim underneath.
This depends on the product. Where RHD and LHD versions differ, the correct option will be available to select or clearly stated on the product page.
Correctly designed trims should not interfere with normal operation of buttons, vents or controls. Each part is shaped around the relevant factory components.
Many Aphero Carbon interior products are made to order and typically take up to 3 weeks to manufacture unless a different lead time is shown on the product page.
Where compatible finishes are available, we can offer carbon interior trims and steering wheel components with similar carbon finishes to create a more consistent interior appearance.
Use a soft microfibre cloth and a mild interior-safe cleaner. Avoid aggressive chemicals, abrasive compounds and rough cloths that may damage or mark the clear finish.
